A selection of original textile works by Viktoria Vigh, created using a self-developed textile dyeing technique combined with batik and natural dyes. Each work is made by hand as a single original. Variations in colour, surface and texture are an integral part of the process. Available works are marked below. For acquisition, further images or shipping information, please get in touch.
Fire in Motion
2025
A saturated red field crossed by black contours that rise and break like flame. The forms gather and press toward the upper edge, where the drawing becomes most dense; lower down they loosen into standing, figure-like verticals.

The Curse 2026
The most open composition in the series. A pale, unbleached ground carries only a few black contours and a single red diagonal that cuts across them, close to a gesture of tearing. The figure is implied rather than drawn: it stands where the lines stop.

Fault Lines
2026
Dense vertical striations run the full height of an ochre ground, layered black over red, closer to strata than to figures. The surface reads as something that has split along its own grain. A small crossing form near the lower edge interrupts the fall of the lines and holds the eye.

The Gold 2024
Fewer forms, given more room. On a warm amber ground three tall contours rise in black and burnt red, drawn with a single continuous movement of the resist. The restraint is the point: the dyed field is left to carry as much weight as the drawing.

Bird 2026
The quietest work in the group, and the closest to drawing. Black contours move across a bone-grey ground in long, uninterrupted lines; a single small mark of red is the only colour. The wing-like shape at the centre resolves and dissolves depending on where you stand.

UNBINDING 2025
Continuous line worked across a light ground, the resist held longer here than anywhere else in the series. What comes loose and what stays bound is left unresolved.

DANCING WITH THE FIRE — 2025
Deep orange-red throughout, with the contours worked in a darker tone of the same colour rather than in black — the figure emerges from the ground instead of being set against it. The most sustained movement of the series: the whole surface leans in one direction.
